I enjoyed that article when I read it a while back. The Atlantic rarely disappoints. My personal happiness tips at the moment? Stir-fried vegetables in a spicy Basil sauce paired with a lovely pinot noir, coconut ice cream and sticky rice on a hot Dallas evening, and the haunting tunes of the Scottish band Malinky. May not be the true secret to happiness, but it's working well for me right now.

An eclectic assortment of happiness tips, for sure. Sounds like fun. The secret to happiness may be the immediacy of something? My current tips (with a nod to yours) -- durian ice cream over sticky rice, Drambuie, and chemistry.

Thank you for posting a link to the Atlantic article which was an interesting read. Happiness is all in the response. You might have found the pinot noir bitter, the rice too sticky, and durian not to your liking. You might be a pessimist on the brink of depression, or you may be able to find joy in the little things of life. I am about to discover some joy in clearing up the packing mess Stepan left before he set out for the Mt. Jefferson wilderness at 5:00 this morning. I'll be thinking of the lovely views and silence he is presently enjoying.
