Sariwang Kambingan, or Yagi Sashimi


I was at Okinawa earlier this month and had some interesting food,
including fresh goat meat (yagi). I also had fresh horse meat (uma),
and we finished our meal with uma soup.
How does raw goat taste, one might ask? It tastes very much like one
imagines cold goat meat might taste. It is chewier than horse, and
has more flavor than horse or many types of raw fish. The flavor is
goaty. One is thankful for the dipping sauce and a strong chaser when
eating this type of cuisine.
