July Golf Report

If we would only consider my competitive record this month, which consisted of two victories, and zero defeats, this report would be a short one. But the manner in which these victories were won, at two of the most storied courses in Asia, encourages me to describe these matches in more detail.

First, at Royal Bangkok Sports Club, I navigated the fast greens and narrow fairways, making a timely birdie in the early part of the round only to fall behind against an intrepid opponent. Standing one down at the 17th tee, one of the classic short holes in all of Thailand, I swung and watched my ball successfully clear a number of obstacles before settling near the green. From there it was an easy 3 to my opponent’s 4, and I proceeded to win the last, and thus the match.

Then it was off to the Philippines and the famed East Course at Wack Wack Golf and Country Club. I won the 1st and never trailed, taking what would prove to be an insurmountable lead after an extraordinary birdie on the difficult 7th. By the time we reached the 18th, the match was long over and another undefeated month was secured.
