Durian and cilantro
This was a pleasant surprise, or for some, a provocation. Durian and coriander (pak chee in Thailand, or cilantro) seem to be love/hate type of flavors.

I don’t check the potato chip aisle as often as I used to. There haven’t been as many new flavors as there once were, and the new flavors that have appeared are missing a certain je ne sais quoi. Cheese. Chili salt. Salt. Ketchup. Baked spinach with cheese. Cheese and onion. And so on. I do have photos, but I haven’t been compelled to write about them.
So I was surprised, last month, when two new flavors showed up.

I couldn’t taste much of anything with the coriander flavor. It was almost like an unflavored chip. The durian bag had a terrific aroma when opened, and the taste was as you’d expect for a dried durian product.
