Not a good sign

When you are out for a run, and when you encounter this sign, and when the only part of it you can read is クマ and the exclamation mark, it’s a bit scary.

Especially when the sign is at a fork in the road. Should I go right, veer left, or perhaps just turn around and retrace my route?

These two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one on the left. A couple days later, I took the left road again. Another time I ventured back simply to take a photo of the sign, and then retraced my route back up the hill.

I should have brought a camera

One morning a few months ago I went for a run on roads and paths through southern Thailand and passed one fighting bull, then another, then another …

In all, I passed six fighting bulls that morning. Not in pastures, but out on the roads, getting their training in just like I was. Then to top it off, I saw a lion in that menagerie on the outskirts of town.

All I could think of after the run with six fighting bulls and a lion was that I should have brought a camera.
