I took a long train ride across 6 degrees of latitude. Bangkok is about 13 degrees north, so I’ll call this a narrow road to the slightly north.
When I got to Bangkok, I went straight to the snack aisle.
A lot has happened since my last post about a surprising “Chef’s Signature” flavor.
That includes my purchase and careful happy hour tasting session of a Devil barbecue chip, retasting the signature salted egg and trying a new signature roasted chili flavor.

In other news, when I arrived in Thailand on a recent trip, I found this new flavor of Lay’s potato chip.
Last week I had a chance to stay at the Onyria Palmares Beach House Hotel. I don’t often have the chance to stay at such a nice hotel. The views were so good, and as the light changed I often found myself wandering back to the balcony of my room to take another picture.
I counted all the flights I’ve been on since mid-October of 2008. That’s a little more than nine years’ ago, and it came to 760 flights in 3,317 days. This table shows all the routes, arranged in order of frequency.
I was recently in Japan for a few weeks. I was traveling most of the time, which is a great way to try lots of different foods. As I was looking through some photos from this trip, I realized that food gives a pretty good indication of the geography of the trip.
