The REAL Sam Khok Diet

So you might be wondering what I eat on a normal day at Sam Khok. The “nu naa” rats from the rice paddy fields are not available every day, and of course my low-calorie rat-based diet plan doesn’t actually involve consumption of the rats. They serve rather as a visual and olfactory appetite-reduction device.

The REAL Sam Khok diet is more along the lines of rice, vegetables, muesli, peanuts, and fruit. I have a shockingly healthy diet when in Thailand, notwithstanding the previous impressions that may have been made in association with grilled rats and their ubiquity here.
