A revelation

It recently occurred to me that some of the best bars are those that specialize in just one drink. I was at the Substation No.41 rum Bar in Brisbane’s Breakfast Creek Hotel, admiring the selection of rums from all over the world. And I don’t recall if it was there that I realized this, or later as I was looking through some photos.

I came across another photo, from my favorite place to drink sake in Niigata. That bar (or is it a museum?) also specializes in just one drink. This is really the way to do it.

Those were from this spring, but a whisky bar in Sapporo, and a tequila bar in Tokyo also come to mind, with the same theme of serving just one drink.

I haven’t been to a gin palace yet, but I imagine that would really be something to write about.
