These are the books I finished reading, for the first time, in 2022. I’ve included a few notes. Crossroads, by Jonathan Franzen. This was a good read. Pachinko, by Min Jin Lee.

I’ve tried a lot of crab flavored potato chips. There was crab curry, soft shell crab, and chili crab. There’s been a crab fried rice flavor (that I had just once) that I don’t seem to have reviewed yet.

I ran a 25 km race at Deception Pass this month, and among the many memories I’ll have of this three hour and 23 minute run are the two crossings of the Deception Pass Bridge.

There’s a new flavor in seaweed aisles all across Thailand. Double meat. Cheeseburger. Maybe a double chicken and a double cheeseburger? I haven’t tried this one yet. I must admit, when I eat seaweed, it’s generally the seaweed taste that I am going for.

I took a wrong turn at the grocery store a while back and stumbled into the seaweed aisle. I’ve documented many of the potato chip flavors, but now I’m starting to wonder if there isn’t more variety on the seaweed shelves than there is on the potato chip shelves.

No, not what I expected at all. In fact, there’s a couple different aspects to this. The primary one, of course, is that I did not expect the extra crunchy grilled eel with Japanese sauce to be my favorite of this recent tasting.

I’ve got a directory labeled chips on my computer’s filesystem, and it has 51 files in it. I think that’s my backlog of flavors yet to introduce to you all. Those are for later.

You may have noticed that I’ve been working on a few more video projects recently. And I’ve spun a couple of those into podcasts. The idea behind this new video and audio content is to share ATC’s turfgrass information in ways that people can easily get.

One morning a few months ago I went for a run on roads and paths through southern Thailand and passed one fighting bull, then another, then another … In all, I passed six fighting bulls that morning.
